§ 30.05. Order of business.

  • All meetings of the town commission shall be open to the public, unless specifically exempted by Florida Statutes, and begin promptly at the hour set on the day of each meeting. The members of the commission, town manager, acting town manager, town clerk, and town attorney shall take the regular stations in the commission chamber. In general, the agenda for public meetings shall be organized in the sequence set forth below. However, to accommodate the public or for other good cause, the town commission or the town manager, or designee, in consultation with the mayor, may modify the order of business or schedule a particular agenda item to be taken up for consideration and determination at a specified time certain:

    (A)

    Meeting called to order;

    (B)

    Pledge of allegiance;

    (C)

    Proclamations and special presentations;

    (D)

    Public to be heard;

    (E)

    Communications and committee reports;

    (F)

    Consent agenda;

    (G)

    Quasi-judicial public hearings;

    (H)

    Ordinances, resolutions, and any matters that may require a public hearing;

    (I)

    Unfinished business;

    (J)

    New business.
